I mean, this kid is 17, his rise of fame is faster than anybody else's in the music industry, he wrote <a href="http://www.amazon.com/Justin-Bieber-First-Forever-Official/dp/0062039741">a book</a>, and now he has a perfume?! What else hasn't he done? Running for the president?<br /><br />I just don't get it. People are treating him as if he's Baby Jesus's second coming or something. While I know he is talented, I also believe that he is over-promoted. Over and over again, we have seen child stars turned into troubled adults once they grew up and did not resemble the cute kids they once were anymore. I hope he is not going to be in that category but again, <i>Justin Bieber has a perfume?</i><br /><br />I know how 17 year-old boys are. My brother is one and he is only a few weeks younger than the Bieber. Boys that age don't care about perfumes (or their own personal hygiene per se.) The only "perfumes" they wear are those Axe cans that they freely douse on their bodies. You can smell their B.O with Axe several miles away. The smell of a team of 17-year old boys can suffocate a giraffe to death. Yet, the Bieber managed to have a perfume. And it's not for people of his same gender. Someday is a fruity-floral with a soft musky base. Not bad, but not so unique, either. So many perfumes out there have the same description. Also, the bottle looks like that of Marc Jacobs Lola, don't you think?<br /><br />While I don't entertain the idea, I do expect this perfume to sell well during this holiday season. After all, the Biebs's team knows how to price their stuff ($30 for 1 fl. oz and $45 for 1.7 fl. oz.) It's ok if your teens like it. Blame it on their lack of exposure. "Where's My Order?" and the Art of Complain

Hi everyone, <br /><br />Christmas is coming and for those who have ordered their gifts online since Black Friday, I hope they are coming to you. Although the internet is a good place to shop and you tend to have better deals than purchasing in store, it is the waiting that gives us a lot of jitters. Although I am not like Dr. Sheldon Cooper in "The Big Bang Theory," I do believe in complaining to customer service to get my orders. After all, it's my money and it's their responsibility to deliver the goods to me. This is a tried and true method and it works. So if you placed an order about three weeks ago and you haven't seen it, here are a few tips for you:<br /><br /><b>1. Read the company's shipping policy:</b> while most companies do have policies to ship out their stuff after 48 hours to 5 or 7 business days, others may take longer. If you purchase from Etsy, definitely pay attention to this part. Since Etsy stores and some other small businesses are ran by one person, it is hard for them to juggle all the balls at once. Also, during the holiday season, a lot of these small businesses are swamped with orders so it might take them longer to ship.<br /><br /><b>2. Find your electronic invoice and shipping notification:</b> if the company already sent you one of those, please read to see if a tracking number is attached. If not, move on top step 3.<br /><br /><b>3. Email customer service:</b> legitimate companies often have an email address to their customer service department. If you haven't seen your order after 3 weeks (internationally, 8 weeks,) it is fair game to email them and ask where your order is. You should include the order number, content of your order, as well as the account number you have for that company. Better yet, forward them your e-invoice. It should have all the information. Wait 2-3 business days to see if you receive a reply. If not, move on top step 4.<br /><br /><b>4. Call them:</b> again, legitimate companies should have a phone number for you to call. It might take some time and make you feel like you are jumping through hoops but again, it's your money and you don't want to disappoint a certain someone in your life so jump! Again, have the information in step 3 ready.<br /><br />When you call, make sure to ask the representative for his or her name and ID number as well as extension number. Should more problem persists and you have to go higher up to the ladder, at least you have a name and some information to tell the supervisor, rather than "I talked to someone on the phone the other day."<br /><br /><b>5. Take it to their social medias:</b> I hope you don't have to go this far to get your order but if that's the case, Facebook and Twitter are surprisingly beneficial. I had a case when I could not get a satisfactory answer from emails and calls. I was so frustrated that I put a tweet online with the company's name (something along the line of "I placed an order in @soandso's website 3 weeks ago and haven't received it yet.") Within an hour later, I checked my email and saw my order was shipped. Was it a miracle or what?<br /><br />Apparently, companies these days are very conscious of how the social medias view them. Who knows where that tweet or that Facebook status would go. Within a click of a button, that tweet would be retweeted so many times that it can make your head spin. Of course, they don't want to be badly perceived. Also, companies tend to have people checking tweets and posts on their Facebook pages, even during the weekends.<br /><br />6. If all fails and months later, your order is nowhere to be found, it's time to <b>file a dispute to your credit card company.</b> If you can't have your goods, they can't have your money, either. I hope none of you have to go to this extreme and it is very annoying to be in this state.<br /><br />I have seen good companies fail because of bad customer services. Apparently, regardless of how awesome the products are, customers can only put up with the bad services for so long. If you are not in a rush, it is worth the wait but since this is the holiday season, you need to do all you can to get your orders. Dove Beauty Cream Bar: an Oldie but a Goodie

Hi everyone, <br /><br />It has been cooler during the past few weeks and my skin decided to have its own crisis. The body wash that I used before started to give my skin rashes and I felt unclean a couple of hours after taking a shower. Very strange, indeed. Thankfully, I found a bar of pink <b>Dove beauty cream bar</b> and gave it a try. No more itching and the rash began to calm down. Yay, thank you Baby Jesus! On top of that, my skin felt smooth and nice. I actually smelled nice, too! Lovely!<br /><br />Dove bar is probably one of those body care products people tend to overlook because it is so familiar. I mean, a lot of us know what it is when we were babies. Even my grandma used it. It's that familiar. Yet, Dove bar is still in the market while other new brands kinda dwindle these days.<br /><br />Here is a thing about Dove: it is very gentle and moisturizing. Even babies can use it. I remember my mom washing my brother with Dove when he was a wee kid and I loved to smell his skin afterwards. And when I had a nasty burn during freshman year, guess what the doctor gave me? A bar of Dove to wash my hands as well as some lotions.<br /><br />Which leads to one point: the Dove bar is a multi-functional product. You can use it to wash your body as well as your face since it has neutral pH. A bar can last for a long time if you keep it away from water. I always keep my Dove bar in a soap dish away from the shower. Also, if you want a basic face wash without spending a lot of money, the scent-free Dove bar is right up your alley. In fact, I used it for a while even when my acne was worse than now. It cleansed my face without making it too crunchy and oily. While it did not give my skin a lot of improvements, it was a relief from the strong medicated acne face washes I used back then.<br /><br />Dove beauty cream bars are great and I am glad to use it again. Every time I use a Dove bar, I find something nice and surprising to add to the list. These days, it is easy for us to get hooked into new and fancy things while the tried and true are always there for us.<br /><br />How about you? I think this has more to do with how the lipsticks were molded since most of them have slanted edges anyways. Number 1 and 5 can happen if you use a lip brush to apply your lipstick. I know my mom had a few lipsticks that were dented in the middle. She wanted to scoop up the remaining amount left in the tube once the lipstick was not enough for her to apply by itself.<br /><br />How about you? How do your lipsticks look like? Do You Subscribe to a Beauty Box Service?

Hi everyone, <br /><br />Lately, I have seen a lot of beauty box services online. A lot of blogs I subscribe mentioned <a href="http://www.birchbox.com/">Birch Box</a> and recently, Michelle Phan opened her own beauty box company called <a href="http://www.myglam.com/">My Glam</a>. As diverse as they sound, these beauty box services one few thing in common: for a monthly fee ($10-15 USD), you get a box of full-size and sample-size beauty products delivered to your door each month.<br /><br />Initially, the idea sounds wonderful: with $10, you can hardly get any reliable drugstore makeup these days. However, the box services give you a few full-size products from department store brands. Wonderful, right?<br /><br />However, most of the monthly reviews I have read were full of disappointments. Some people received products they did not need while others did not have so many full-size products they were promised when they signed up for the services. Also, the bunch of samples you get in the box, you can get them for free at Sephora as well. Needless to say, a lot of people felt like they did not get the full satisfaction out of their money.<br /><br />That, I do agree with them. I did it once and then did not do it again because of that same reason. Also, in some services, the boxes sent out are not the same. Some may have more valuable things in their boxes while yours is full of samples. That time, I was hoping to get some cool eye shadows but ended up with something I could not use at all. Off they went to the trash can and so was my $10!<br /><br />In Michelle Phan's new beauty box service, I hope less people would be disappointed since her company allows you to view the products in the box before you decide to buy. This is a smart move and I hope it will change the beauty box service soon.<br /><br />How about you? Have you subscribed to any beauty box services? Back then, Nivea was not available in the U.S and I had a hard time trying to find a replacement. I came to a bloody conclusion that I had better give up hope and switch to ChapStick for good. That was what happened and despite finding some really decent ChapStick, in my heart of heart, I still had a very special longing for Nivea lip balm.<br /><br />Why did I fall in love with it? First of all, back then (and probably 'til now), there was no lip balm that I could not compare to Nivea. It was silky smooth on my lips and it lasted incredibly long, too. One swipe and you're done. You can take on the wind, the rain, and the bitter cold but that Nivea lip balm won't fail you. No ma'am, it won't. Also, if you are familiar with that sweet classic Nivea scent, the blue lip balm has it, too. It was addicted to the feeling as well as the scent, which made it quite hard to jump ship afterwards.<br /><br />It only took me a cold to reunite with my first lip balm love. The cold left me to breath with my mouth and soon enough, my lips were dried. I needed a lip balm badly. A trip to the pharmacy and I saw a couple of my favorite blue lip balms. I promptly asked for one and paid for it, feeling very giddy when I popped it open.<br /><br />Guess what? The stuff is as good as it used to be but the ingredients are way better. I applied a coat and hours later, my lips were still moist. At night, before I went to bed, I put on a coat and in the morning, the stuff was still there! Believe me, this is a moisturizing lip balm without that waxy feeling that I hate. A layer is enough and it lasts really long, too!<br /><br />Price-wise, the Nivea Essential Care lip balm is probably the cheapest lip balm you can find in Vietnam. I've used more expensive ones and they are not in the same level with this one. I've come to notice that while Nivea products sell well in Asia and Europe, they have a hard time in the U.S. Even when I saw this lip balm in the U.S, there were not so many of them and well, they looked ancient, which put me off from buying them.<br /><br />Needless to say, I love this lip balm and I highly recommend it to those who love wearing lip balms, too! Once you use it, you will understand why I love it so much.<br /><br />How about you?
