Howdy partners!<br /><br />How are you doing? How was your weekend? Did you watch the Super Bowl? Well, the marching band that performed in the pre-game is my alma mater's. Cool, right? They also performed with Prince in half-time show a couple of years ago. Moreover, they were the only marching band that performed for President and the First Lady during the inauguration. The Marching 100 is probably the best band in the country right now. She sent me 3 Beauty Diary masks to try. So far, I used the Bulgarian rose (pink one) and Pearl Powder (white package) masks. They are soooo moisturizing but it is next to impossible to get them here in the U.S. She also sent me 2 pairs of lashes from Daiso and I love these criss-cross lashes very much. She also sent me a Rimmel London lipstick in Vintage and it is very creamy and pretty.</div><div style="text-align: left;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: left;">Thank you so much, McNunu for sending me the package. I love everything you sent and it was a very nice surprise to see stuff in the mail :) Btw, I consumed the candies already. However, when I edited the pictures, I started noticing the difference in my lips. The first lip picture is how my lips actually look on the daily basis while the last picture looks like a close up of Angelina Jolie's lips! I could not believe it myself!</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div>From the scale of 1 to 10 with 1 being very watery and 10 being extremely sticky, the Infallible lip gloss falls somewhere around 5 and 6. It is not so sticky but I don't find it watery either. The shine is good and for the ones that have shimmers, they are even shiner. As a plumping lip gloss, this one works quite fast: the whole lip picture taking time was less than 10 minutes and I saw how plumped my lips were already. Also, it does not hurt although I do feel a tingling sensation every time I use it. These glosses are scentless and tasteless, although if you smell closely enough, it does have a faint chemical smell.<br /><br />For lasting power, it does last quite well. On Tuesday, I applied Plumped Pink on top of MAC High Tea before going to lunch. The lunch lasted quite long, I drank about 3 glasses of water and ate a nice plate of food. I also wiped my mouth a couple of times, yet when I came home, I still saw visible hint of color on my lips!<br /><br />While I can't verify the 6-hour claim because I do have to eat and drink water during a typical six-hour stretch, I can tell you this lip gloss does last a lot longer than your typical gloss. Also, it is comfortable to wear and you get the lip plumping action to boost.<br /><br />I wear Plumped Pink a lot lately, it kicks my favorite MAC lip gloss (Sugar Trance from Fafi collection) to the curb. Overall, I love the performance of L'Oreal Infallible plumping lip glosses, at least the ones I have.<br /><br />Price: $9.99 at mass-market and drugstores. Now, I know the price is not cheap but we all know L'Oreal have BOGO deals all the time. Since my hair is stick straight, I want curls. Sometimes, I got fantastic curls, other times I got crappy uncurled curls. And then, once in a while, I burned myself and my hair! Since this is the most superficial layer, the curls need to be tighter. Therefore, you count slowly to 15 per section. After you are done with this section, release all the hair from the butterfly clip and inspect carefully. If you miss any spot, please take your time and curl the hair in those areas.</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;">After you are done curling all your hair, it's time to grab that bottle of hairspray.</div><div style="text-align: center;">If you love big, bouncy, beautiful hair, flip your hair upside down and spray all over your hair. Then wait for 30 seconds before flipping your hair back up. Mine is 1.5 inch in diameter and I am very happy with the result. Also, bigger curlers make it faster to curl.</li><li>Although there are so many types of curling irons out there, make sure yours is coated with ceramic. Before this curling iron, I had a metal one and not only did my hair get burn all the time, the curls did not last as long.</li><li>Make sure your hair dries completely before you curl. Wet hair is very weak and when exposed to extreme heat, hair is prone to breakage.</li><li>Be extra vigilant when using your curling iron: it is a hot tool and it can burn you!</li><li>If you dye your hair recently, don't jump up and down to curl it immediately. Dyes and heat can do a lot of damage to your hair.</li></ol>I hope this post helps you to create this much coveted cascading curly hairstyle. The three things for a successful curly hair operation are sectioning, holding your curling iron parallel to your face, and counting. It not only hurts your eyes but also harbors bacteria. And pink eyes is not fashionable, ya heard? </div><div style="text-align: left;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: left;">(Note to readers: he meowed loudly at this point to protest with anger at pink eyes.)</div><div style="text-align: left;"></div><div style="text-align: left;">When you know to dump your lash curler pads:</div><div style="text-align: left;"><ol><li> It splits right at the middle (like the one in the picture)</li><li>It feels like leather</li><li>It does not curl your lashes no mo'</li><li>You don't remember when you bought the curler and what color the pad originally looked like.</li></ol></div><div style="text-align: left;">If you answer "yes" to one or more of the aboved categories, please dump your pad and get a new one. The pad should be changed once every three to six months. Now, some companies like Shu Uemura do not sell replacement pads beyond the extra one that comes with the eyelash curler but you can easily find something similar at CVS or Sally's Beauty. Dao got hers at Sally's, methinks. (I checked and she confirmed.)</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div>Ok, that's all for now, kittens! In the daytime, he goes around the 'hood interviewing folks (mostly my elderly neighbors) regarding fashion and trends. Then, at night he comes to my place, scratches the door, and meows loudly with the Southern accent of his for a report. He is a tough negotiator and we agreed upon a big bowl of cat keebler, water, and half an hour of tummy scratches a day.</div><div style="text-align: left;"></div><a name="more"></a>How I met Mr. Belly:<br /><div style="text-align: left;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: left;">A year ago, when I moved to my new place, I saw a big fluffy stripped cat sitting on top of a car in the parking lot. I came over to pet him and gave him some food. At first, he did not want to do anything with me and gave me stank eyes. Eventually, he realized I was not an enemy and soon followed me home. About three months after that, I started to see bags of cat food and cat treats in my place and Mr. Belly became a regular visitor. He's a friendly cat in the neighborhood whose owner could not take care of him anymore. So, technically he still belongs to her to some levels. Myself and two other neighbors feed, play with him, and give him shelter if necessary (I only do the first two.) </div><div style="text-align: left;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: left;">Since he is knowledgeable in fashion and beauty, I decided to give him a column and we will see what Mr. Belly is coming up with.</div><div style="text-align: left;"><br /></div>Mr. Belly is around 14 years old in cat age (approximately 72 in human age!) He's been home-free for 3 years. Beside fashion and beauty, his expertise are: hunting snakes, fighting with other animals, and chasing squirrels.<br /><br />Ok, folks! That's all for now.
